(Australia-NewsWire.Com, October 29, 2013 ) Brisbane, Australia -- Following a mutually approved decision of the IKAB Investments AB’s management team, in Q2 2012 it invested $290 in acquisition of a building lot located near Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
The major part of the invested capital has been spent on construction of a 220.000 sq.m. warehouse premises, purchase of up-to-date refrigeration and cargo facilities, and development of infrastructure to ensure that the warehouse is easily accessed by truck drivers.
Following 11 months after the capital investment the real estate object development was successfully accomplished and it has been placed on auction for sale. In terms of just weeks the object was acquired for $520 mln by an Australian food company that is planning to use the facilities to store beef for import. This deal, which is the first real estate investment move IKAB Investments AB made in the New World countries, resulted in a $230 mln gain.
“The New World countries worth its weight in gold for investors,” said Mr John Wattin, CEO of IKAB Investments AB. “And though the Australia’s state authorities take a very serious approach to selecting who, why, and when invests in their country, in the end we determined to take this step and it seems it was not in vain”, he concluded.
Apart from rigid requirements associated with the purpose of investment and location of realty object, Australia’s government also demands that investors take proper care of the aesthetic aspect of the object they are investing in. To tackle this requirement IKAB Investments AB hired eight architectural and environmental designers from Poland who catered for external and internal design of the premises.
The warehouse premises occupy 184.000 sq.m. of the construction site, while the rest of the area is a spacious parking area for cargo trucks and several facilities buildings.
