(Australia-NewsWire.Com, October 12, 2015 ) Sydney, NSW -- After 30 years of crocheting, Julie Murphy was beginning to experience pain in her fingers. She sadly contemplated giving away the one hobby she loved. As time progressed she found she was only able to crochet for small periods of time.
Seeing his wife in such pain and talking about giving away something she loved, Clive began researching ways to combat the pain. He investigated lotions and potions, fish oil and other supplements. While some worked marginally, the pain from the arthritis remained.
One night, whilst sitting in front of the fire and watching Julie crochet, Clive began thinking about the grip she was using. Could it be modified to be easier on the fingers? Any modification affected the tension of the yarn and the end product.
While the grip had to stay the same, Clive researched the hook handles to see the effect they had on Julie's fingers. After many months of trying new needles, Clive eventually stumbled upon an ergonomic set of hooks with rubber handles.
Julie loved the feel of the new hooks and found that, after crocheting for two hours, she had very little pain in her fingers. Clive commented, "It's so good to see Julie back doing something she really loves and teaching others how to crochet."
With such good results, Clive set up a business supplying EasySew Ergonomic Crochet Hooks with an organizer to people who were suffering pain when crocheting. The new grip makes them perfect for people who either use a pencil grip or a knife grip.
EasySew recently launched their Ergonomic Crochet Hook Set and Organizer on Amazon.
