(Australia-NewsWire.Com, October 02, 2015 ) Sydney, New South Wales -- Jeremy is a normal guy who is by no mean a professional lighting technician, so when it came to putting up his holiday lights and having them in sync with his music, he had to find the most efficient and tidy way to do it. Luckily, Jeremy had recently been given a roll of gaffer tape by Gaffers Tape Solutions to try out and so he put it to the test on his lighting project!
Since Jeremy wanted to sync his music with his holiday lights it meant that he was faced with securing over 3000 feet of cables belonging to his lights, music and extension cables running all around his house. The first challenge for Jeremy was to safely secure all of these cables whilst, at the same time, having his work look neat and tidy.
Jeremy had attempted this before but had faced a few problems. Previously he had used duct tape to hold his extension leads down but the problem was that duct tape always left a horrible sticky residue on his cables as well as the other surfaces after the tape was peeled back. Another problem with using duct tape was that the PVC coating was reflective and when the lights came on, the shine coming off the tape was distracting. So when he came across the black matte gaffer tape from Gaffers Tape Solutions, his problems were solved.
Gaffer tape has a special rubber backed adhesive which means that when removed it does not leave any sticky residue behind thereby leaving the cables and surfaces clean and damage free. Gaffers Tape Solutions provides a gaffer tape with a black matte surface which has an almost paper look and feel to it. This provides a totally non-reflective surface even under the brightest lights and makes for a much neater look all round.
After using this gaffers tape, Jeremy made the following remark in his subsequent product review; "The tape really does an excellent job at securing my extension cords and I am overall very impressed". "It also kept its integrity and didn't get unwieldy when using long pieces of it".
Jeremy not only used the gaffer tape for his holiday lights, he also went on to use it for other quick fixes too. For example, Jeremy told of how, with a little piece of gaff tape, he taped a "fall wreath" to the front door of his house. The mount didn't fit over the door so with a little bit of initiative he cut the mount and used the tape to secure it. The job worked out perfect for him with the wreath fitting very securely. When the time comes to pull everything down, due to the qualities of the tape, it can easily be pulled away without damage to the surface nor will it leave any sticky mess behind.
Jeremy declares, it's a "great product and I can recommend this, not only for taping cords, but anywhere else around the house when you need a tough, strong tape".
Gaffers tape has many uses both around the home and by professionals alike. In fact it is used by many different professions including, lighting specialists, bands, photographers, filming and staging to name a few and is becoming more popular around the home for quick and temporary fixes.
