(Australia-NewsWire.Com, November 10, 2012 ) Hyde Park; SA, Australia -- British royal couple Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall arrived in Bangalore as they endorsed its credentials as a major global healthcare hub.
The couple will check into Dr. Isaac Marthai’s Soukya Holistic Health Center in Whitfield as part of their week-long holistic healing session.
Soukya practices different systems of medicine such as Ayurveda, naturopathy, homoeopathy, and yoga on a 30-acre organic farm. The couple is said to be prepared to undergo several Ayurveda and naturopathy procedures. They are also said to be on a South Indian vegetarian organic diet.
Dr. Mathai has prepared a presidential suit for the Prince and his wife. Marthai has been a health adviser for the royal family for two years. A Scotland Yard team preceded this visit to Bangalore as they took part in a recce as part of preparation.
The Duchess had been to Whitefield once before in 2010 as she accompanied Prince Charles was in India to inaugurate the Commonwealth Games. Soukya is considered a global model of holistic and integrated medicine, and guests from over 70 countries visit for treatment.
The royals’ association with non-standard western medicine began after Prince Charles met Dr. Mathai to collaborate with Soukya. Said collaboration includes a clinical training to European and Western doctors in the fields of Ayurveda and homeopathy and other traditional forms of medicine that can be integrated into the western versions of medicine.
The foundation for the extended campus of Royal College known as the International Institution for Holistic and Integrated Medicine was set by Dr. Michael Dixon in 2011, along with the Royal College of Medicine.
